Can You Have Two Marriage Licenses in Different States
Getting married twice in 2 different states?
Editing because I got my reply- thank you!
Ok and then I know this may get heated simply I'm going to ask anyway.
My fiance and I are getting married in Massachusettes this autumn, still we are buying a house in NH and are thinking of eloping (inside the side by side month) in New Hampshire.
Does anyone know if we get married twice? Once in NH and 1 again in MA?
We have our reasons for wanting the elopement, and no we wouldn't tell anyone, and yes we would still call it a hymeneals in October (fifty-fifty though I KNOW and then many people disagree with that) but it's our pick.
So merely curious if anyone knows if y'all could get married twice in 2 different states and have two different union licenses purchase marry the aforementioned person..??

Yous merely go a license in one state. Yous tin't become married in another country unless you divorce beginning. You could have a vow renewal pr celebration of union afterward, but be sure that guests know you are already married

Yous will be asked on the marriage license application re your electric current marital status. So, no, you can't get married twice, because you will already be married. Your choice is to be open and honest with your guests and have a vow renewal, or lie. I caution you lot not to choose to lie to your officiant, as they are duty jump to follow the law.
You said you lot had your own reasons for the elopement. If they are not for financial or insurance purposes, but considering y'all want a individual exchange of vows, go ahead and do that. Have a private delivery ceremony without the accompanying legal documentation. Then have your "wedding" as scheduled.

What Muriel said. No professional person officiant will use traditional wedding circumlocution in a vow renewal ceremony since certain words in wedding vows make the marriage legal. Your guests would find out during the second anniversary that you're already married. #bad-mannered
